Our research scholar programs provide a unique opportunity for students to engage in hands-on research experiences and advance their academic and college goals!

Founded by top unversity researchers, the Research Scholar Program helps students work 1-on-1 with a Ph.D. mentor to learn about the cutting edge in their field of interest and produce an independent research project. Through our partnered network, our counselors work closely with the education team to identify candidates and their interests, conduct evaluation, and design proper programs in parallel with the research projects to make sure our students achieve the ultimate goals.

Welcome to our comprehensive English Language Arts course designed to address the literacy and language needs of every student, while equipping them with critical skills for the twenty-first century.

This series introduces students from grades 5 to 9 to a rich selection of notable and diverse literature, fostering a love for reading and enhancing their reading proficiency. Through engaging discussions and activities, students will develop their analytical skills, deepening their understanding of literary works and preparing them for high school ELA or humanities and beyond. Additionally, our course provides guidance to help students prepare for secondary and postsecondary education. Students will actively participate in answering questions related to the literature, and they will have the opportunity to work on projects that showcase their understanding and interests with the guidance of dedicated mentors. By the end of this course, students will not only be well-prepared for advanced language arts courses but also possess the necessary skills to excel in their future academic endeavors.

AMC Booster

The American Mathematics Competition 10/12 (AMC 10/12) is an engaging and challenging course designed to cultivate problem-solving skills and mathematical thinking among high school students. This program prepares students for the prestigious AMC 10/12 competition, administered by the Mathematical Association of America (MAA).

Through interactive lectures, practice problems, and mock exams, students will develop their problem-solving techniques, logical reasoning, and mathematical intuition. By participating in the AMC 10/12, students have the opportunity to qualify for the American Invitational Mathematics Examination (AIME) and potentially compete at the highest level. This course not only enhances students’ mathematical abilities but also instills a sense of achievement, confidence, and a lifelong passion for mathematics.

The AMC 10/12 is a 25 question, 75 minute multiple choice test and tests mathematical problem solving with arithmetic, algebra, counting, geometry, number theory, probability and other secondary school math topics. Problems are designed to be solvable by students without any background in calculus.

Built upon our expertise and knowledge of both competition math and top schools, this AMC-booster program aims to thoroughly prepare the student for both.

Interview Prep

Interviews are one of the most important aspects of a successful independent school application. The vast majority of the top independent schools now require Vericant assessment and, depending on the score, will then decide whether to offer a virtual or in-person interview to the student.

We recommend that every student take the Vericant; even if your child attends an American or international school, most schools will still require a Vericant score. In addition, many of the skills used in the Vericant are applicable to independent school interviews and students tend to be better prepared for school interviews having taken the Vericant.

In this course, your child will work with instructors who attended elite boarding schools themselves and have years of experience guiding students through the application process. By the end of this course, your child will be able to successfully navigate both the Vericant and all independent school interviews.

If you do not intend to take the Vericant assessment, we have you covered and will dedicate the program towards your independent school interview!

Built upon our expertise and knowledge of both the Vericant and independent school interviews, this private interview-prep program aims to thoroughly prepare the student for both.

Junior Science Challenge

This program is designed to prepare students for the prestigious global science video competition. Participants will be introduced to the challenge and its requirements, gaining an understanding of the procedure involved in submitting their entry.

Students will engage in brainstorming sessions to explore potential topics for their video, followed by an in-depth study of the science behind their chosen subject. They will learn effective strategies for designing their project and drafting a compelling script. Through this course, participants will develop the skills and knowledge necessary to create a captivating video presentation that showcases their scientific understanding and communication abilities.

One of the challenges this course prepares students for is the Breakthrough Junior Challenge, an annual global competition for students to inspire creative thinking about science. Students ages 13 to 18 from countries across the globe are invited to create and submit original videos that bring to life a concept or theory in the life sciences, physics or mathematics. The submissions are judged on the student’s ability to communicate complex scientific ideas in engaging, illuminating, and imaginative ways. The Challenge is organized by the Breakthrough Prize Foundation, and as part of the founders’ Giving Pledge supports science and the communication of scientific ideas.

Students will be exposed to new ideas of interest, be empowered to develop their own pet projects, and prepare for more sophisticated projects in high school that can drive their future academic interests and benefit college admissions.
